Senator Kashim Shettima, the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) vice presidential nominee, has urged Nigerians to prepare for a challenging year in 2023.

At an APC Professionals Forum session on Thursday with the topic “Dissecting the Asiwaju Manifesto,” Shettima gave the clue.

He forewarned that the nation will face some difficulties in the ensuing months and years.

The vice presidential candidate claimed that while being an unrelenting optimist, he is also a realist and that the country cannot protect itself from the issues in Ukraine and the wider world.

We’re going to experience some choppy waters in the upcoming months and years, Shettima said. Due to this, effective leadership is essential. The election in 2023 will be a turning point in this nation’s history.

What choices are available? There are a lot of extremely cautious snails in our political environment. Without resorting to spiteful concoctions or [throwing] doubtful aspersions on individuals, we must arouse discourse. Added he.

Shettima also made fun of Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, saying: “Peter “Gringori” Obi is my buddy, but “Gringori” has nothing to contribute other than questionable numbers. Thus, there is a distinction between daylight and darkness in the decision that we must make.
