On Thursday evening, three fuel tankers caught fire on Otedola Bridge in Lagos’ Ojodu-Berger neighbourhood, trapping several people inside.

Dr. Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, the permanent secretary of LASEMA, said that an accident involving the oil tankers was to blame for the outbreak.

“Further investigations showed that one of the tankers rolled back onto the second tanker and other cars as it was ascending the bridge. The fire was caused by the collision’s force, he claimed.

Although he claimed that it was impossible to determine how many individuals were trapped in the blaze, early analyses showed that three container-laden vehicles were involved in the multiple accidents.

Also mentioned were two tankers carrying unidentified but extremely flammable materials, one tipper truck carrying gravel, one flatbed vehicle, and three autos.

In addition to LASTMA, LASEMA, and the Nigeria Police, he claimed that four fire vehicles were on the scene.
