Mauro Meluso, the sports director of Napoli, has denied rumours that Victor Osimhen will be departing the team in January.

After a recent argument with the team, Osimhen has been linked to a move away from the Serie A champions.

The 22-year-old became agitated when the team made fun of him in two TikTok videos for missing a penalty during the 0-0 draw against Bologna.

The striker’s injury upon his return from the last international break infuriated Napoli.

Further rumours regarding Osimhen’s future have been sparked by the fact that the parties have not yet reached an agreement on a new contract.

But Meluso insisted that there is no way the Partenopei will permit the lucky scorer or any other important player to depart in January.

“Not at all. When asked about elite players like Osimhen departing in January, Meluso responded, “Absolutely not.”
