Senator Darlington Nwokocha, the minority whip, was fired by the Court of Appeal in Lagos on Saturday.

According to information obtained by Tribune Online, Nwokocha represents Abia Central in the National Assembly’s red chamber on the Labour Party’s (LP) platform.

According to the polls conducted on February 25, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) nominee, Col. Austin Akobundu (retd), was legitimately elected as a senator by an Appeal Court.

In its decision, the court overturned the National Assembly election petition tribunal’s earlier decision, which had maintained Nwokocha’s victory.

Additionally, the PDP candidate Anthony Agbazuere’s appeal against Ginger Onwusibe, a member of the LP’s House of Representatives, was dismissed by the Court of Appeal located in Lagos.

The court affirmed Onwusibe’s triumph in the National Assembly election held on February 25 and affirmed the tribunal’s decision that Agbazuere’s complaint lacked substance.

As a result, it confirmed Onwusibe’s election as the legitimate representative for the federal seat of Isiala Ngwa North/Isiala Ngwa South.
