Senate approves 45 ministerial nominees

Out of the 48 nominees sent to the Senate by President Bola Tinubu, 45 have received confirmation as ministry nominees.

Following consideration and approval of the nominations during Monday’s plenary, the confirmation was made.

The nominees are Sens. Abubakar Kyari (Borno), Abubakar Momoh (Edo), Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Prof. Joseph Utsev (Benue), and Sen. John Enoh (Cross River).

Others include Dr. Betta Edu (Cross River), Imaan Sulaiman (Nasarawa), Ahmed Dangiwa (Katsina), and Uche Nnaji (Enugu).

The nominees are Bello Muhammad (Sokoto), Mohammed Badaru (Jigawa), Yusuf Tuggar (Bauchi), and Uju-Ken Ohaneye (Anambra).

Abdullahi Gwarzo (Kano), Simon Lalong (Plateau), Bello Matawalle (Zamfara), Tunji Alausa (Lagos), Adegboyega Oyetola (Osun), and Uba Ahmadu (Taraba).

“Lola John (Lagos), Dr. Isiak Salako (Ogun), Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri (Bayelsa), Dr. Yusuf Sununu (Kebbi), Prof. Tahir Mamman (Adamawa), Zaphaniah Jisalo (FCT), Ibrahim Geidam (Yobe), and Dr. Bosun Tijjani (Ogun) are on the list.

“Shuaibu Abubakar Audu (Kogi), Sen. Sabi Abdullahi (Niger), Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi), Sen. Alkali Ahmed (Gombe), Dr. Mariya Bunkure (Kano), Festus Keyamo (Delta), and Hannatu Musawa.

“Dr. Dorris Uzoka (Imo), David Umami, Ekperipe Ekpo (Akwa-Ibom), Nkiru Onyeojiocha (Abia), Dele Alake (Ekiti), Lateef Fagbemi (Kwara), Muhammad Idris (), Olawale Edun (Ondo), Adebayo Adelabu (Oyo), and Prof. Ali Pate (Bauchi).

Godswill Akpabio, the president of the Senate, praised the legislators for their perseverance throughout the process in his remarks.

Out of the 48 nominations the President forwarded, he claimed that 45 have already been confirmed by the Senate.

According to NAN, Sen. Abubakar Danladi (Taraba), Stella Okotete, the executive director of the Nigerian Export and Import Bank (NEXIM), and former governor of Kaduna Nasir El-Rufai are all awaiting approval before being confirmed.
