Security personnel pursue Sagamu cultists, a member of the House of Assembly, and six other suspects.

Security personnel in Ogun State on Wednesday followed six alleged cultists who were thought to be involved in the violence that broke out in Sagamu over the weekend to a member of the state House of Assembly’s official residence.

It was reported that Hon. Damilare Bello Mohammed, who represents Sagamu State Constituency 1, had been arrested for allegedly giving the offenders a place to stay.

After receiving a tip, a team of security personnel conducted a sting operation and detained the suspects on the legislator’s property.

Among those detained are Damilare Bello Mohammed, also known as DRE, Debbo Animashaun, Bamidele Saheed, Ismaila Onitire, Adewale Otesanya, and Tobi Owoade, according to sources.

At the Department of State Service (DSS), they are currently being questioned.

Numerous deadly items, including guns, were reportedly found on the suspects, according to sources.

It should be recalled that Hon. Bello was detained by the DSS for allegedly organising the violent demonstration that occurred in Sagamu in February of this year in opposition to the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) currency redesign policy.
