Security and defense, infrastructure, health care, and education were among the sectors receiving significant allocations in the N47.9 trillion Budget Proposal that President Bola Tinubu presented to a joint session of the National Assembly on Wednesday afternoon.

“I am delighted to present the 2025 Budget of the National Assembly of Nigeria, titled ‘The Resurrection Budget,’ which focuses on security and building prosperity, to this esteemed joint session,” Tinubu announced at the conclusion of his 30-minute speech at 1:10 pm on Wednesday.

He emphasized that food security is non-negotiable, and added that the government is taking measures to ensure Nigerians have enough to eat and do not go hungry.

Tinubu stated that their 2025 plan is more than a mere projection of government revenue and expenditure; it serves as a call to action.

Our country is confronted with an existential threat due to corruption and insecurity. However, if we work together, these challenges can be overcome. We need to reshape the narrative of our nation.

“The period for mourning has passed. Now is the time to take action.”
