Tonye Cole of APC suggests that four prominent figures hold the key to resolving the Rivers political turmoil, calling on Tinubu for immediate intervention.

Tonye Cole, who was the governorship candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State during the 2023 election, has shared his perspective on the current political crisis occurring in the state.

Cole stated that peace will only return to the oil-rich state if four prominent figures come together to address and resolve the crisis.

He mentioned this during his appearance on Arise Television’s Morning Show program on Tuesday.

The statement was issued in the midst of a continuing political crisis in Rivers State, following last Saturday’s local government election.

In his opinion, if President Bola Tinubu genuinely desires peace for Rivers State, he is capable of overseeing the meeting.

He stated, “I’ve mentioned before that certain actors need to be part of the discussion. Four specific individuals must come together and prioritize Rivers State over personal interests and agendas. Until then, peace will remain elusive.”

“Former Governor Peter Odili, a key figure in this political landscape, must be involved. Rotimi Amaechi should also have a place at the table. Additionally, Nyesom Wike and Siminalayi Fubara need to participate.”

“The President can oversee this if he truly desires peace in Rivers State. A decision must be made to establish how we will proceed moving forward.”

“Until that happens, just as Fubara’s term is nearing its end, you will witness a full-scale conflict.”
