Respectfully, 2023 WWC. England’s Lauren James receives a message from Michelle Alozie of Nigeria
Following the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup Round of 16 match between the two teams on Monday, Super Falcons defender Michelle Alozie sent England’s Lauren James a message of “respect.”
After the match ended in a 0-0 stalemate after 12 minutes, according to OBASANJO NEWS24, England overcame Nigeria 4-2 in a penalty shootout in the Round of 16.
The Chelsea attacker received her marching orders in the 87th minute when James purposefully trod on Alozie during the confrontation.
James will miss England’s following three games as a result of the dismissal.
Upon walking on Alozie, the 21-year-old received criticism on social media.
But on Tuesday, Alozie expressed her respect for James in a tweet sent via her Twitter account.
Abeg, rest, she wrote in a tweet. The world is our stage, and we are the actors.
“This game is full of moments, intense feelings, and passion. Lauren James deserves every respect.
