Resign or Face Impeachment – Okocha-Led Rivers APC Warns Fubara
The Okocha-led faction of the Rivers APC has issued a strong ultimatum to Governor Siminalayi Fubara, demanding his resignation or facing impeachment amid the ongoing political crisis in the state.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, under the leadership of Tony Okocha, has urged Governor Siminalayi Fubara to resign or risk being impeached by the State House of Assembly.
During a press briefing in Port Harcourt on Monday, Okocha delivered an ultimatum, accusing the governor of mismanaging the state.
Okocha states that Fubara has just two choices: to either resign or face impeachment.
He claimed that Fubara’s administration has plunged the state into crisis.
He went on to assert that the Supreme Court’s verdict suggested a lack of functional government in Rivers State, pointing out numerous violations by the governor that he characterized as grounds for impeachment.
Okocha also claimed that Fubara no longer holds the authority to call Assembly members for discussions.
