Rerun of the Lagos Reps: “It’s a miracle we get another chance,” says Banky W

Olubankole Wellington, a.k.a. Banky W, is a well-known Nigerian singer and the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) nominee for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency in Lagos State.

Thaddeus Atta, the Labour Party’s nominee for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency, was declared the validly elected representative for the constituency on Monday by the National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal, which was in session in Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, was mandated by the court to perform supplemental polls in 33 polling locations where elections were not held within 90 days after the court pronounced the election inconclusive.

Banky W praised the tribunal’s decision and called it a miracle in his response to the decision during his interview on Channels Tv Politics Today on Wednesday.

“To me, the fact that we have a second chance to complete the election is a miracle in and of itself.

In his words, “I think it’s a monument to the force of endurance, the power of faith, and the collective desire of the people who want to participate in the reconstruction of this democracy.
