Reckless driving leads to man’s arraignment by the police
Peter Oribamise, 44, was docked before a Magistrates’ Court in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State, on charges of careless driving, causing an accident, and causing damage to a tricycle.
Oribamise was charged by the police on three counts that involved malicious damage and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Nonetheless, the defendant entered a not guilty plea to the allegations.
The defendant committed the offences at Magbon Ilado town in Ibeju-lekki, Lagos State, between October 30 and December 19, 2023, at around 10.30 a.m., the prosecution, Friday Ekundayo, told the court.
According to Ekudayo, the defendant drove carelessly and hurt one Mr. Lukman Yusuf.
The prosecutor further stated that Yusuf’s motorbike, which was worth N700,000, was damaged by the defendant.
The charges violated section 51(1) of Lagos State’s 2018 road traffic law, according to the prosecution.
The defendant was given N500,000 in bail by Magistrate Mrs. Olumide Fusika, along with two sureties in the same amount. The matter was then postponed till February 1st for further consideration.
