Goals from Amad Diallo and Joe Hugill secured Man Utd’s 2-0 victory over Rangers. Diallo, a former loanee with the Ibrox side, was amongst the scorers. In addition to that Leny Yoro featured in Manchester United’s first-half lineup before being substituted out later on; he played an instrumental role in helping Erik ten Hag’s team keep their opponents at bay throughout the game. It is worth noting here that Yoro moved from Lille under a potential contract sum of £58.9m which adds further significance to his valuable contributions during this match!
In his debut for the team, Leny Yoro played a crucial role in Manchester United’s clean sheet and helped secure their 2-0 victory against Rangers during a pre-season friendly held at Murrayfield under Erik ten Hag’s leadership.
Fresh from his recent £58.9m arrival from Lille, the 18-year-old centre-back made an appearance in the starting line-up alongside Jonny Evans. The team also featured winger Jadon Sancho, who has returned to Manchester United following successful discussions with Ten Hag to clear up any misunderstandings.

Having experienced a fallout with Ten Hag and subsequently returning to former club Borussia Dortmund on loan, Sancho made his debut appearance for United after 11 months since their last Premier League victory over Nottingham Forest.
After suffering a 1-0 defeat to Rosenborg in their initial pre-season friendly on Monday, United managed to secure the lead during the 39th minute when Amad Diallo cleverly received Mason Mount’s pass and executed an impeccable goal towards the corner. Later on at minute 70, Joe Hugill secured another victory for his team as he skillfully scored from Maxi Oyede’s through-ball – who is also a young player like himself.
At the break, Ten Hag swapped out his entire outfield squad – except for starters Casemiro, Andre Onana and Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Nevertheless, Yoro was still one of the team’s standout performers.
During the first half, the teenager successfully demonstrated both his speed and strength to match Rangers striker Cyriel Dessers’ pace, thereby thwarting a potential one-on-one opportunity. Additionally, he had plenty of possession throughout this period.
With 48 passes made in total, Yoro surpassed all other United outfield players both in the number of touches and pass count. Notably, out of his seven attempted long balls, he succeeded with four.
“It was incredible for me,” he expressed to MUTV post-match. “Our team played exceptionally well and I’m pleased with my performance. I hope we can maintain this level of play going forward.”
“The team-mates provided me with a great deal of assistance, while the staff ensured my comfort. Playing together on the field has been extremely beneficial for me.”
