Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari, Garba Shehu, stated that authorities of the Nigerian Government are trying to ensure the safety of Nigerians in Sudan.

Shehu tweeted that the continued turmoil in Sudan was giving the Nigerian government “sleepless nights.”

In an effort to protect the safety of the significant number of our citizens there, our authorities are working hard in coordination with the Embassy in Khartoum, the Sudanese government, and the governments of Ethiopia.

Minister Geoffrey Onyeama, who is in charge of organizing these operations, is certain that they will begin evacuating people as soon as possible.

On Channels TV this evening, “watch the Minister explain what they are doing.”
