Following the recent cabinet reshuffle, the Presidency clarifies that the ministers were discharged from their duties rather than being sacked, aiming to dispel misconceptions about the nature of their departure.

The Presidency has provided clarification on President Bola Tinubu’s recent cabinet reshuffle.

Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, stated that the ministers were not sacked but rather discharged.

In an interview with TVC, Onanuga mentioned that the word “sacked” does not accurately reflect their departure.

Seven ministers were dismissed and seven new ones appointed as Tinubu reorganized his cabinet.

The cabinet reshuffle, revealed on Wednesday, impacted Uju-Ken Ohanenye (Women Affairs), Lola Ade-John (Tourism), Tahir Mamman (Education), Abdullahi Gwarzo (Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development), and Jamila Ibrahim (Youth Development).
