“The information is correct, but I don’t have much information about the incident,” one of the traditional rulers remarked. We have been informed that last night saw the death of the chief, a well-liked traditional leader and member of the Akarigbo in-council. Although he goes by the name Baasegun, we are unable to identify the individuals responsible for these heinous deeds. We let law enforcement and other security services do their duties.

According to a Sagamu Local Government employee who requested anonymity, the incident also forced the LG employees to quickly end their workday in order to prevent being implicated in any potential acts of violence that resulted from the homicide.

According to the insider, “As I speak to you, tensions in the town are quite high, and employees are leaving the local government secretariat to avoid getting caught up in any kind of conflict. Many claim that cultists killed the man, but no one has been able to corroborate this and the available evidence is still limited.

When reached for comment, SP Omolola, the spokeswoman for the Ogun State Police Command, said she would investigate and get back to our correspondent. As of the time this report was filled out, she had not yet returned.
