Police save victims of kidnapping found chained in Katsina Forest

Five individuals suspected of being kidnapped while en route from Abuja to Zamfara were successfully rescued by the police in Katsina State.

The Police spokesperson, ASP Abubakar Sadiq-Aliyu, verified the rescue during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Katsina on Tuesday.

According to Sadiq-Aliyu, a police patrol team carried out the rescue operation on Monday in Katsina Forest located in Kankara Local Government Area, where the victims were found in chains.

The victims had been abducted on March 9 at Kushere village in Zamfara while traveling from Abuja to Zamfara.

The victims were then taken to Katsina Forest and restrained, but thanks to the swift action of the police operatives, they were successfully rescued.

Sadiq-Aliyu mentioned that the rescued individuals are currently receiving medical attention, and efforts are underway to reunite them with their families.

He also assured that the perpetrators responsible for the kidnapping would be apprehended.
