The FCT Police Command took decisive action on Monday by conducting a raid on suspected kidnappers’ hideouts and routes located in the hills and bushes surrounding Apo Resettlement in Abuja, as detailed in a statement released by the command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, on Wednesday.

Led by the Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth Igweh, the FCT Police Command’s operatives carried out the operation on April 1, 2024, around 11 am, focusing on Zones A and B of Apo-resettlement and its neighboring areas to enhance security measures in response to the perceived presence of kidnappers and criminal elements in the region.
The operation included the destruction of illegal structures and clearing of bushes surrounding the hills, along with the strategic deployment of police personnel for surveillance patrols to secure the entry and exit points of the hills, as highlighted in the statement issued by the command.
Additionally, CP Igweh urged residents to stay alert and cooperate with law enforcement by promptly reporting any suspicious activities to the police, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in maintaining safety and security within the area.
