Police in Jigawa recover stolen vehicle, detain suspect

Mahmud Adam, 43, has been taken into custody by the Jigawa State Police Command in relation to an automobile theft. The state’s Gwaram Local Government Area has also yielded a stolen SUV.

The command’s spokesperson, DSP Shiisu Adam, declared on Sunday, June 16, that the suspect had been taken into custody on Saturday, June 15.

Shiisu claims that a complaint of a stolen Honda CRV, registered DKD 10 AG and owned by Abba Yahya of Gano town, Dawakin Kudu LGA, Kano State, was the reason behind the arrest.

He claimed that Maiduguri, in Borno State, was the reported destination of the car.

He claimed that on the Sara-Darazo route, the SUV was stopped by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Gwaram and his crew.

According to SHiisu, the suspect has subsequently been turned over to the Kano State Police Command for additional investigation, along with the recovered vehicle.
