Police in Jigawa bust an armed robbery ring

Three alleged armed robbers have been arrested in Dutse after the Jigawa State Police Command dismantled their organisation.

This was revealed in a statement provided to reporters by command spokesperson DSP Shiisu Lawan Adam.

He claims that the event happened last week after five armed thieves broke into a house in G9 Quarters, Dutse LGA, and called the police.

He claimed that according on the reports, the attackers severely beat the victim before stealing a number of expensive items, such as a 2011 black Honda Accord, two plasma TVs, an HP laptop, and a Redmi Note 11pro phone.

He claimed that after being taken right away to General Hospital Dutse for medical attention, the victim’s case was then forwarded to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Dutse for a covert investigation.

Adam clarified that three suspects were apprehended as a result of the investigative team’s efforts: Umar Abubakar, a 28-year-old from Kano State’s Bompai Miller Road; Yakubu Mohammed, a 24-year-old; and Zakariyya Dahiru, a 28-year-old from Yalleman town, Kaugama LGA.

The victim was allegedly assaulted, his car and other possessions taken, and the suspects admitted to these crimes, according to him.

Hassan Kura and Umar Abubakar, commonly known as Messi, were revealed as their accomplices who are still at large.

He stated that the command is still dedicated to capturing the remaining suspects who are on the run.

According to him, the people who were detained will go through a covert investigation at SCID Dutse and then be charged and put on trial in order to face the proper legal proceedings.

On the other hand, the Command asked the public to keep sending in pertinent data that could support ongoing efforts to uphold peace and order in the state.
