Police bring four suspects to court for alleged assault

Four men, all aged 21, were brought before the court in Lagos on Wednesday, accused of cutting the right shoulder of another man.

The defendants, Mudashiru Ibrahim, John Agidingbi, Moshood Usman, and Thankgod Simon, whose addresses are unknown, are facing charges of conspiracy, assault, and willful damage. Despite the allegations, the defendants pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, SP Kehinde Ajayi, informed the court that the offenses were committed on March 9 at Oko-oba, Orile Agege, Lagos State.

It was alleged that the defendants used a cutlass to assault Mr. Babatunde Yusuf, causing injuries to his right shoulder and other parts of his body.

Additionally, the defendants were accused of damaging security lighting, a snooker board, and some tables belonging to Mr. Jimoh Fatai.

These actions are in violation of Section 411, 173, and 350 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Ejiro Kubeinje, granted each defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties. The case has been adjourned until April 17 for mention.
