Police Free Chained Kidnap Victims from Forest in Heroic Rescue Operation
Police in Katsina State have successfully liberated five individuals suspected of being abducted while en route from Abuja to Zamfara. ASP Abubakar Sadiq-Aliyu, the police spokesperson, affirmed the rescue during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Katsina on Tuesday. He disclosed that a police patrol team executed the rescue operation on Monday within Katsina Forest, situated in the Kankara Local Government Area, where the victims were found in chains.
Sadiq-Aliyu elaborated, stating, “The rescued victims were traveling from Abuja to Zamfara on March 9 when they were kidnapped at Kushere village in Zamfara.” He continued, “The victims were taken to Katsina Forest and chained, but were eventually rescued by our operatives.”
The rescued individuals are currently undergoing medical treatment, and concerted efforts are underway to facilitate their reunion with their respective families. Sadiq-Aliyu reiterated the commitment of law enforcement to apprehend the perpetrators responsible for the abduction.
This successful rescue operation underscores the proactive efforts of the Katsina State Police Command in combating crime and ensuring the safety and security of residents and travelers within the state.
