Police apprehend two suspects in Kano for culpable homicide
Two individuals are under arrest by the Kano State Police Command on charges of culpable homicide in various regions of the state.
This was revealed in a statement made on Thursday in Kano by SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, the spokesperson for the Command.

He claims that a man named Mr. Chidera Ugwu was detained in the Tofa Local Government Area on suspicion of killing a pregnant woman while attempting to terminate her unborn child by giving her the incorrect injection.
He detailed how, on December 20, 2023, he received a report from someone named Nura Balarabe of Tofa Local Government Area (LGA) stating that Ukasha Muhammad of Langel Village in Tofa LGA had gotten his sister Amina Bala of Kwanar Mahuwa Tofa Local Government Area, Kano, pregnant.
“The aforementioned Ukasha Muhammad planned with a woman named Chidera Ugwu of Lanbum Banki Tofa LGA to give Amina Balarabe injections and medications with the intention of causing a miscarriage, which led to her demise.
After being taken into custody, the suspects admitted to the crime. According to investigations, Chidera Ugwu reportedly gave pregnant ladies lethal injections, which had catastrophic results.
He continued, “The quack doctor’s arrest represents a major advance in our ongoing efforts to protect the lives and wellbeing of residents in the state.”
