On Thursday, agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, or EFCC, broke into the Dangote Group’s head office in Lagos.
TheCable reports that agents of the anti-graft agency were looking into foreign exchange allotments made to the business when Godwin Emefiele was the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) governor.

Dele Oyewale, a spokeswoman for the EFCC, declined to comment on the development.
Nonetheless, a Dangote staff member attested to the presence of EFCC agents at the business’ headquarters.
The employee stated, “They requested documentation on foreign exchange transactions with the CBN.”
