Police apprehend 4 suspects in Lagos tricycle theft case

Four men have been apprehended by the Lagos State Police Command for their alleged involvement in the theft of three tricycles belonging to a mobility company based in Ojota.

The arrest was confirmed by SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s spokesperson, during a press briefing in Lagos on Saturday.

The theft was reported to the Ogudu Police Division by the secretary of the mobility company on Tuesday at around 10:00 am.

The secretary informed the police that he had received a tip-off earlier that day at 7:00 am, stating that three tricycles owned by the company had been stolen by unidentified individuals.

Acting swiftly on the report, a team of detectives from the division immediately launched an investigation and successfully traced the stolen tricycles to different locations.

As a result, four suspects, whose identities have been withheld, were apprehended.

The first suspect was arrested in Ondo Town, Ondo State, with the first stolen tricycle, while the second suspect was apprehended in Mile 12, Lagos State, with the second stolen tricycle.

The third and fourth suspects were captured in Idiroko, a town situated on the border between Lagos State and Ogun State, with the third stolen tricycle.

Hundeyin concluded by stating that the suspects will face charges in court once the investigation is completed.

The diligent efforts of the police in tracking down the stolen tricycles and apprehending the suspects demonstrate their commitment to maintaining law and order in Lagos State.
