Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, the winner of Big Brother Naija Season 7, has reportedly turned down an offer of N13 million from one of the sponsors of the reality show.

According to Obasanjonews.com, Phyna has been vocal about the incomplete prizes from the organizers and sponsors of the show, despite winning the title in 2022.

A cryptocurrency company had promised to award Phyna 1 BTC as part of her winnings, but they had not fulfilled this commitment even two years later.

In response to Phyna’s public complaints, the company met with her and proposed to give her N13 million, claiming it was the equivalent value of 1 BTC in 2022 when the promise was made.

However, Phyna took to social media to share a video message where she revealed that she declined the N13 million offer and demanded the 1 BTC instead, which she stated was now valued at over N90 million.

She also emphasized that she expected the reality show organizers and sponsors to provide her with tickets for a trip for two to the Maldives, which was part of her prize package.

Phyna expressed her unwavering stance on the Maldives trip, insisting that she would not settle for alternative destinations like Kenya or Morocco. She made it clear that she could finance her own trips to those countries if she desired.

Additionally, she addressed the discrepancy in the value of 1 BTC, pointing out that the company had offered her N13 million based on the 2022 rate, while she calculated that the actual value in November 2022 was closer to N19 million.

Highlighting the missed opportunities due to the delay in receiving her 1 BTC, Phyna stressed that if she had received the cryptocurrency in 2022, she would have had approximately N96 million today.

She questioned the fairness of being offered N13 million now, considering the financial loss she had incurred over the past few years.
