The Yaba Flyover was officially opened by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Thursday. He claimed that the project would make life easier for the locals.

“I officially opened the Yaba Flyover Bridge Project today, which is an essential component of the Lagos Red Line Rail Project. After the event, Sanwo-Olu posted on his X account, “This modern transport system is set to transform Lagos, simplify residents’ lives, save time on the road, and boost our GDP.”

Our transit system’s central hub is the Yaba Bus Station. Connected to the Yaba Train Station, it creates pathways for pedestrian-friendly areas, reducing commuting time and enhancing the quality of life for Lagos citizens.

The governor issued a warning against trading on the flypast during the event.

“These initiatives have been carried out at great expense. Our commonwealth is under attack from societal foes, and we should not take it lightly. I beg all drivers to keep this bridge safe from vandals and other adversaries of society. Sanwo-Olu mentioned

“Let me stress once more that this bridge is not a marketplace; goods are not to be displayed on the steps, ramps or walkways. Strict guidelines have been issued to our law enforcement authorities to guarantee that there is no room for misuse of this facility.
