Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP), went to the home of the late Oyibo Chukwu on Friday to show his condolences. Chukwu was the senatorial candidate for Enugu East until gunmen killed him. Chukwu was shot and killed while running for office.

Three days before the presidential and national assembly elections on February 25, the attackers shot and killed Chukwu and his personal assistant.

The intruders, who arrived in a Hilux truck, attacked Chukwu’s campaign car and set it on fire.

In Enugu’s Nkanu West Local Government Area, in the Enugu town of Amurri, Obi paid a visit to the deceased’s family.
