Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party, stated that the nation is experiencing difficult times ahead of the next 2023 presidential election. He added that it has grown challenging for parents to know where their next meal would come from.

According to the former governor of Anambra State, the current problems facing the nation are the product of years of weak leadership compounding one another.

While appearing as a guest at an event titled “Shaping the Future” organized by Boys Champions, a civil society organization, Obi commented on Friday in Enugu.

“Troubled times are being experienced by your nation.
It meets the criteria for two factors that define a failed state.
Initially, when you lose command of your region.
Everyone in this place, including you, feels uneasy.
No one is secure.
You are now only hearing negative news.

“When you lose control of your economy, it is number two. There is a challenge facing your parents. Since you are unemployed, it is hard for you to predict where your next meal will come from. Your parents are uncertain of the price they will pay for a bag of beans or rice today. If they send someone to the market, the price for that particular day is whatever he returns with. With it, we cannot plan. Thus, it must alter.

“How did we get here? That is the result of terrible leadership compounding over time, he added.
