PDP Suspends Spokesman and Legal Adviser Over Alleged Misconduct
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended its spokesman and legal adviser following allegations of misconduct, signaling internal challenges within the party.
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended Debo Ologunagba, the national publicity secretary, and Kamaldeen Ajibade, the national legal adviser, due to allegations of misconduct.
In a statement signed by Chinwe Nnorom, the National Director of Publicity for the PDP, it was noted that the party’s national working committee has ordered that the suspended officers appear before a disciplinary committee. This investigation will be led by Taofeek Arapaja, who is the PDP’s Deputy National Chairman (South).
After the suspension, the deputies to both officers have been instructed to immediately take over their positions in an acting capacity.
The statement mentioned that the pair were suspended due to allegations of disloyalty and insubordination made against them.
The statement, in part, announced that following its 593rd meeting on Thursday, October 10, 2024, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has instructed Hon Debo Ologunagba and Kamaldeen Adeyemi Ajibade SAN to step down from their roles as National Publicity Secretary (NPS) and National Legal Adviser (NLA), respectively.

Consequently, the NWC formed a committee led by H.E. Amb. Taofeek Arapaja, the Deputy National Chairman (South), to examine the issues raised against the officers in accordance with the Party’s Constitution provisions.
After the NWC’s decision, their respective deputies (DNPS and DNLA) were instructed to assume office in an acting capacity starting from Friday, October 11, 2014. This arrangement will remain until the Committee concludes its investigation. The officers are:
Ibrahim Abdullahi Manga, the Acting National Publicity Secretary, and Okechukwu Osuoha, the Acting National Legal Adviser
The NWC urges all leaders, key stakeholders, and numerous members and supporters of our esteemed Party to stay focused and dedicated as it manages the daily activities of the PDP for its benefit.
The PDP has been dealing with an internal conflict that has divided its members over the tenure of acting national chairman Umar Damagum, as well as matters concerning disciplining members who have acted improperly.
