PDP Crisis: I Would’ve Disowned Wabara If He Were My Father – Wike
Amid the ongoing PDP crisis, Nyesom Wike has stated that he would have disowned Adolphus Wabara if he were his father, highlighting deep divisions within the party.
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, stated that he would have disowned Adolphus Wabara, Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT), if Wabara were his father.
Wike claimed that Wabara was among those contributing to the unrest in the PDP.
During a media chat in Abuja on Sunday, the Minister attributed the party’s setbacks to the actions and statements of certain PDP leaders.
Wike stated that it was improper for PDP leaders to urgently push for the ousting of Acting National Chairman Umar Damagum and National Secretary Sam Anyanwu, especially in light of court rulings.
Wike stated, “If Wabara were my father, I would have disowned him. He is not fit to be a leader. It’s no surprise that Obasanjo addressed his corrupt actions in a presidential broadcast.”
“I’m not concerned about it. The issue is being handled by the courts, and the party’s constitution provides clear guidance.”
If they resign, they’ll need to be replaced through elections. It doesn’t surprise me that someone is attempting to circumvent this process.
Certain individuals are attempting to manipulate the situation, but their efforts will not succeed. The issue is currently being addressed in the courts, and we must uphold our respect for the rule of law. Additionally, it’s important that we concentrate on resolving internal party matters as we prepare for the upcoming convention.
Rather than creating crises, the convention should proceed as planned in December to introduce a new executive.
