PDP Crisis: Dino Melaye Mocks Damagum, Tells Him to Join APC
Senator Dino Melaye has taken a jab at acting PDP National Chairman Damagum amid the party’s crisis, suggesting he should consider joining the ruling APC in a satirical comment.
On Friday, former Kogi West Senator Dino Melaye urged Umar Damagum, the suspended acting national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to consider joining the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Melaye, who referred to Damagum as a destructive force, stated that the suspended chairman has caused significant damage to the PDP.
Melaye posted on X: “APC, the agent of chaos, this must stop. Damagum, if it’s what you want, join APC without causing a stir.”
“Farewell, Damagum; the damage you’ve caused is sufficient.”
A group within the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) had suspended Damagum and Samuel Anyanwu, the party’s national secretary.
The factional National Working Committee (NWC) also suspended Debo Ologunagba, the party’s national publicity secretary, and Kamaldeen Ajibade, its national legal adviser.
However, the Federal High Court in Abuja has prohibited the National Executive Committee (NEC) and the Board of Trustees (BoT) of PDP from removing Damagum as acting national chairman of the party.
The court ruled that only Damagum should be acknowledged as the PDP national chairman until the party’s national convention, which is set for December next year.
