Imo PDP condemns recent killings in the state, accusing Gov Uzodinma of inaction and failing to respond proactively to the crisis.

The Isiala Mbano LGA council headquarters in Imo State was recently attacked by unknown gunmen, resulting in the death of security guards. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has vehemently condemned this incident.

The razing of Obowo LGA Divisional Police Headquarters and the killing of a policeman in his house near NEPA junction in Umulogho community within the same locality were also condemned.

According to its State publicity secretary, Lancelot Obiaku in a press release, our party affirms that the ongoing senseless assault on public amenities and murder of blameless residents is unwarranted and contrary to our traditions and national identity.

Obiaku expressed regret that there were no measures in place to prevent the constant attacks in the State. He urged the Hope Uzodinma-led APC government to be proactive and address these issues rather than remaining passive and unconcerned about what is happening within their jurisdiction.

According to the PDP publicity secretary, the Governor’s lack of proactivity in addressing the killings in their State has resulted in a grim situation where such atrocities have become commonplace. This normalization has created an atmosphere that emboldens attackers, allowing them free rein to conduct their operations without hindrance or consequence. Consequently, this unfortunate turn of events has turned our once peaceful state into a battleground rife with bloodshed and grief.

Governor Uzodimma and Imo APC’s focus seems to be on their secret primary elections for the local government elections rather than acknowledging the destruction and bloodshed happening around them.

He said, “Interestingly enough, the Governor was caught on a leaked video speaking to his loyal members of APC during a private meeting regarding the primary election. He boasted about having complete knowledge of all activities taking place in every LGA within the State.”

According to Obiaku, the governor holds a high position yet remains inactive while these assailants continue to take innocent lives.

He stated that they have no concern for governance, nor do they value human life. They are willing to watch Imo burn and let people suffer from hunger without any consideration.
