The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has demanded the immediate removal and prosecution of Betta Edu, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, for her alleged involvement in the embezzlement of N44 billion from the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA). The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, expressed this stance in Abuja on Sunday.

Ologunagba emphasized that this fraudulent act is just a glimpse of the extensive corruption and mismanagement of resources that has occurred under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC). He criticized the minister for diverting millions of naira that were intended to support impoverished Nigerians, stating that her continued presence in office is not only provocative but also tantamount to stealing from the people.

Ologunagba concluded by reiterating the PDP’s belief that the APC government, led by Tinubu, is a breeding ground for corruption and a safe haven for thieves and embezzlers. The party spokesperson also highlighted the shocking reports of Edu and the suspended National Coordinator of NSIPA, Halima Shehu, engaging in brazen looting while ordinary Nigerians suffer from extreme hardship and misery.
