PDP Benue, says Ortom as he distributes 20 campaign vehicles to party
Samuel Ortom, the governor of Benue State and the head of the PDP campaign council there, has given the state’s campaign team access to cars.
Immediately following the strategic meeting of the PDP State Campaign Council and Campaign Management Committee, which was held in the new Banquet Hall of the Benue Peoples House, Makurdi, on Monday, November 21, 2022, the Governor handed out the campaign vehicles.
The governor said the cars were intended to improve transportation and other logistics for the campaign as the party launches rigorous campaigning and mobilizations in the state ahead of next year’s elections, according to a statement made on Monday by Nathaniel Ikyur, Ortom’s chief press secretary.
In his brief remarks at the meeting, Ortom, according to Ikyur, had previously stated that the party had no problems in the state of Benue and was planning to win the 2023 elections.
He said that the party in the state will not stop working until it won the election in 2023.
“We want to work extremely hard with our people, therefore we’ll keep meeting to make sure we win the elections in 2023,” they said.
“However, Benue State does not have any issues, and we will triumph in our elections.
By God’s grace, our team has put forth a lot of effort.
All politics are local; the most important thing is that we are conducting our local politics here.
PDP is highly devoted, and we are devoted to PDP in Benue State, but we struggle nationally till problems are fixed, according to Ortom.
The Governor insisted that the party’s national leadership was to blame for the present crisis since they were unable to implement internal dispute resolution procedures to address the issues.
The Governor denied rumors that the five Governors were the only ones who were unhappy with the way the party is being governed nationally.
He made a suggestion that other senior party officials are also troubled, but said, “Because we love the PDP, we trust that equality, fairness, and justice are the methods that will be employed to settle the situation.”
Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, gave the Benue State campaign team the vehicles as gifts.
