The legendary Paul Scholes of Manchester United has placed the blame for the team’s 3-2 loss to Galatasaray in the UEFA Champions League on three Red Devils players.
Man United succumbed to the Turkish heavyweights at Old Trafford despite twice taking the lead.
Although the offence seemed strong, Erik ten Hag’s team has struggled on defence, giving up 18 goals in their first ten games of the year.
Scholes was unhappy, though, especially with the manner in which Galatasaray’s second goal was scored, and he blamed Sofyan Amrabat, Victor Lindelof, and Andre Onana.
“This was United’s first home Champions League game, and you really had to win. Scholes stated on TNT Sports, “This is a bad outcome.
Despite not being a left-back, “[Sofyan] Amrabat gets the job done for the goal. It was really open.
“I’m unsure of [Raphael] Varane’s destination. In the centre of the pitch, [Victor] Lindelof is lost. So fragile and frail. They wasted opportunities because they were so transparent in that crucial defensive area.
“Everyone is aware of the goalkeeper’s action. Simply put, it’s unacceptable, the former England international continued.
