On Wednesday, a Danfo commercial vehicle carrying multiple passengers crashed on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos. Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, the Lagos Territorial Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), confirmed the incident.
He stated that the accident caused two adult passengers to be thrown off the 18-seater bus and into the Lagos lagoon. The Marine Police are currently conducting a search for the male and female passengers who fell off the bus.
The crash occurred near the Adeniyi Adele axis, heading towards Lagos Island. According to Farinloye, the driver was speeding and veered off the road, colliding with the bridge rails.
The impact of the crash forcefully propelled the two passengers into the Lagos lagoon. The Marine Police are currently searching for the victims, while the injured individuals have been transported to a nearby hospital.
