Our dedication is to save the remaining Chibok girls who were abducted- Borno govt

The Borno State Government has reassured the parents of the abducted Chibok school girls that they are dedicated to continuing their efforts to rescue the remaining girls, even ten years after the tragic incident.

Prof Usman Tar, the state Commissioner for Information and Internal Security, expressed this commitment during a press conference held to commemorate the ten-year anniversary of the Chibok Girls abduction.

He emphasized that a decade ago, the Boko Haram insurgents unlawfully kidnapped 276 innocent girls from Government Girls Secondary School Chibok.

The significance of this painful date is deeply ingrained in the collective memory of the community, and the government will not cease its efforts until all the remaining innocent girls are safely reunited with their families.

The Borno Government extends its sympathies to all those affected by the abduction and assures the public that they will persistently strive to rescue the abducted girls on behalf of their parents and relatives.

Tar further explained that the government is fully committed to rescuing and reuniting the remaining Chibok girls with their families.

They acknowledge the immense pain and anguish experienced by the families of those still in captivity and express their solidarity with them.

Additionally, the government intends to provide an update on the progress of the rescued girls and their adjustment to normal life after their ordeal.

The Borno government is determined to sustain the momentum in their rescue efforts and ensure the safe return of the remaining girls.
