Osun APC Cuts Ties with Ex-Governor Aregbesola
The All Progressives Congress (APC) chapter in Osun State has disowned Rauf Aregbesola, a former governor of the state.
The party’s chairman, Mr. Tajudeen Lawal, revealed this in a statement during a meeting of stakeholders on Tuesday at the state secretariat in Osogbo.
The chairman claimed that the former interior minister had engaged in a number of anti-party acts, such as organising organisations that opposed the party’s goals.
Party members should not fall for any trick to register with the former governor, he said, as the party does not recognise the entity.
The APC secretary for the state, Kamoru Alao, affirmed the chairman, stating that the committee that will train the trainers locally will be constituted by National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, following which the party’s electronic membership registration process will begin.

He declared: “We are advising our faithful party members not to join Aregbesola’s group because Omoluabi is not a part of our party in Osun state as a whole.
“Aregbesola is no longer an APC member as far as the Osun APC is concerned. We expect the national secretariat to take the appropriate action after we notified them three times about Aregbesola’s distractions.
The anti-party accusations made against Aregbesola, however, were refuted by Omoluabi Progressives Publicity Secretary Abosede Oluwaseun, who stated: “The structure of the party was intact when Aregbesola left the affairs of APC to his successor, but that cannot be said again years later.”
When they attempted to suspend Aregbesola from his ward in the Ilesa East Local Government Area of Osun State, they were unsuccessful twice.
He declared, “We are not diverted to realign the APC in order to wrest the state back from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2026.”
