Osimhen and Iheanacho will not play for Nigeria against Mozambique

Victor Osimhen and Kelechi Iheanacho of the Super Eagles will not play in the team’s friendly match against Mozambique.

According to a Sunday update on the team’s X handle, this is the case.

Osimhen was replaced during Friday’s 2-2 tie with the Saudi Arabian Green Falcons. However, the club’s management announced days after the match that the Napoli attacker would miss Monday’s match against Mozambique as a “precautionary measure on advice of the medical team.”

Iheanacho received an exemption so he could take care of “pressing personal issues.”

In the match against Saudi Arabia, Iheanacho and Osimhen both participated, with the former scoring that evening.

On Monday, Nigeria will play Mozambique at the Estadio Municipal de Albufeira in Portugal.
