“Oshiomhole: Tinubu Takes on Patriarchal Role for APC Candidate in Edo Governorship Race”
Ahead of the upcoming Edo State governorship election, former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Adams Oshiomhole emphasized that President Bola Tinubu is a supportive figure for the party’s candidate, acting as a fatherly figure.
Oshiomhole assured that the APC is in a state of unity and fully prepared for the forthcoming election in Edo State.
Speaking to journalists after visiting Tinubu in Lagos for Sallah homage, the Edo North Senator conveyed his optimism regarding the APC’s chances of emerging victorious in the upcoming governorship election in Edo State.
Oshiomhole stated, “We are gearing up for the elections. We are pleased with our preparations and are finalizing all necessary arrangements to secure a victory in the upcoming election because our party is cohesive; we have successfully resolved all issues stemming from the primaries.”
He added, “Our opponents are grappling with various crises; even the Labour Party is facing internal conflicts, whereas the APC remains stable without any crisis.”
“We are eagerly anticipating the commencement of the election process by INEC on April 24. I updated him on all these developments. We are content with the support he provides as a fatherly figure, but we are not complacent, relying solely on his support, as he will not be physically present in Edo to cast his vote.”
The former APC national chairman stressed the importance of the party’s efforts in terms of “voting” and “mobilization” to convey a compelling “campaign message that resonates with the people of Edo.”
