Ortom encourages people of Benue to stand behind Governor Alia
Dr. Samuel Ortom, the former governor of Benue State, has encouraged the people of the state to unite around Alia and provide their support so that he can succeed.
This was said by Ortom in a statement released on Wednesday in Makurdi by his media assistant, Mr. Terver Akase.

He was responding to the ruling by the Supreme Court upholding the legitimacy of the State’s governor, Hyacinth Alia.
He asserted that for the state to advance and flourish, the populace must come together regardless of political affiliation.
“The legal struggle that followed the elections of 2023 was crucial in strengthening our democratic ideals and beliefs.
It is an illustration of the rule of law in action and a reflection of how dynamic our democracy is.
“It’s time for all of us to wish Alia well as he leads the state now that his election has been confirmed,” Ortom stated.
He went on to say that having served as the state’s previous leader, he was aware of the difficulties involved in running a state and the necessity for the populace’s support and collaboration.
He also wished Alia success and good health.
