Only one defender, according to Gary Neville and Rio Ferdinand, can stop France striker Kylian Mbappe in the World Cup
In the midst of the current 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Manchester United legends Rio Ferdinand and Gary Neville have named England’s Kyle Walker as the only defender in the world capable of stopping France striker Kylian Mbappe.
Four years ago, Mbappe assisted France in winning the World Cup in Russia.
With three goals in two games, the Paris Saint-German star has had a strong start to the 2022 World Cup.
In reference to a hypothetical England-France quarterfinal matchup, Neville said to Sky Sports, “Mbappe vs Walker.
If anybody can contain Mbappe, we have the ideal right-back in terms of strength, speed, and experience.
On his YouTube channel, Ferdinand also discussed a possible England-France matchup, claiming that Kyle Walker is the only defender in the world right now who will stand there and tell Mbappe: “Right, 1-v-1, let’s have a race.”
