Onitsha witnesses collapse of building that was under construction, consisting of five storeys

In Onitsha, Anambra State, a five-story structure that was under construction fell on Wednesday.

According to sources, the structure collapsed at 7:15 a.m.

If there were any casualties in the event, which happened at DMGS Junction, near the well-known Dennis Memorial Grammar School, Obasanjonews.com was unable to determine.

“I noticed it this morning as I was heading to work. The structure collapsed into debris.

Since there was no active work on the project this morning, I don’t believe there were any victims within the structure.

The source stated, “Although the cause of the collapse has not been determined, many onlookers who observed from across the road suspected that it may be as a result of use of substandard materials.”
