The preacher is accused of defrauding one Taiwo Opesanmi of N1.2 million, which led to the arrest.

The suspect allegedly solicited money from Opesanmi between 2019 and 2020 in exchange for help getting her a position at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

Daniel Aidamenbor, the Public Relations Officer of Command, claimed that Opesanmi and the pastor had met at a prayer mountain in Ijoka, Akure.

Aidamenbor stated that the NSCDC’s Counter Terrorism Unit, working with a commercial bank, was able to locate and capture the suspect after getting a court order.

He stated: “At the time of the investigation, another victim of the Pastor also claimed that he had sold land to her for N800,000 using a forged gift document.

She was required to pay an additional N1 million to the legitimate landowner because she already had a building there.
