On Wednesday, a Federal High Court in Lagos State granted N5 million bail to Oluwadarasimi Omoseyin, a Nollywood actress accused of tampering with and spraying the newly designed Naira notes.

Omoseyin was charged with two counts by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and appeared in court before Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke on Monday.

The accusation bothered those who stepped on and sprayed the newly created naira notes.

The defendant, 31, was accused of tampering with N100,000 brand-new notes by walking on them and spraying them at an incident in the Lekki neighbourhood of Lagos.

But she entered a not guilty plea to the accusation.

Justice Aneke admitted the defendant to bail and one surety in the same amount in his decision on Wednesday.

According to the court, the surety must be employed by the government and possess real estate that is subject to its jurisdiction.

Additionally, the surety must present three years of tax clearance.
