Okupe Claims Tinubu Traveled to the UK Due to Upcoming Cabinet Reshuffle
Doyin Okupe has stated that President Tinubu’s recent trip to the UK is linked to plans for a cabinet reshuffle, sparking speculation about changes within the administration.
Former Presidential spokesperson Doyin Okupe has asserted that President Bola Tinubu traveled to the UK to take some time alone for a review of his administration’s progress so far.
Okupe, in an interview with NAN, criticized Nigerians who have been condemning Tinubu’s two-week holiday trip to the United Kingdom.

He stated that the president aims to steer clear of “undue interference from political associates” while looking to reorganize his cabinet.
Okupe stated, “I have come across numerous uninformed critiques regarding the President’s vacation abroad.”
In my view, based on how Presidents typically act during national crises, I think the President has intentionally distanced himself from officials, friends, and associates to reflect on the past 17 months and plan a new direction for his administration.
“Simultaneously, it is crucial to steer clear of undue influence from political associates in his decision-making process as he reorganizes his cabinet.”
