Officials have reported that the Wagner Chief was a passenger on the wrecked plane

According to reports from authorities, Evgeny Prigozhin was supposed to fly aboard the Embraer Legacy aircraft that crashed and destroyed itself.

Russia’s federal air transport office has confirmed that Evgeny Prigozhin, the head of the Wagner Private Military Company, was named as one of the passengers on the private plane that crashed on Wednesday in the Tver Region of Russia.

According to the Russian Emergencies Ministry, all 10 occupants of the private aircraft that was flying from Moscow to St. Petersburg had passed away.

“From Sheremetyevo, an Embraer was departing for St. Petersburg. Seven passengers and three crew members were present. An official told TASS that they all passed away.

In the northwest Tver Region, the accident happened close to the Kuzhenkino settlement. Embraer Legacy 600 with the tail number RA-02795, which is thought to belong to Prigozhin, has been recognised by some Russian media as the missing aircraft. Officials, nevertheless, did not vouch for this.

The name of Prigozhin was listed in the passenger manifest, according to Rosaviatsiya, the Russian government air transport organisation.

Officials told RIA Novosti that eight bodies have so far been found.

Rosaviatsiya announced that a special commission has been created to look into the incident’s circumstances and cause. The Embraer-135BJ private jet belonging to MNT-Aero was recognised as the object in question.
