According to Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) nominee for president in 2023, Nigeria is disintegrating quickly as poverty rates continue to rise.

Additionally, he asserted that only Nigerians are capable of reclaiming their party from the ruling class, which has persisted in ensuring that, despite the nation’s enormous potential, the majority of its citizens remain impoverished.

During his presidential campaign in Taraba State, Obi made the remarks on Wednesday at the Jolly Nyame Stadium in Jalingo, the state’s capital.

“Nigeria is imploding and it is doing it very quickly,” he declared.
Taraba is one of the 133 million people that live in poverty in our country.
Millions of individuals live in this country and don’t know where their next meal will come from. That is what Baba-Ahmed and I aim to change.

Additionally, Datti Baba-Ahmed, Obi’s running mate, stated, “Nigeria is conducting a war; that war is not between tribes or between faiths – that battle is between the decent people of Nigeria and terrible government, and that war we must win.”

They made promises to state stakeholders that, if elected, they would administer the nation from the states that housed the majority of the country’s potential people and financial resources rather than Abuja.
