Bala Nikyu of Nasarawa United is giddy with delight after his team achieved their first victory in the Nigeria Premier Football League so far this year.

At the New Jos Stadium on Saturday, the Solid Miners overcame the struggling Kwara United 2-0.

Ten minutes in, former junior international King Osanga gave the hosts the lead, and four minutes before the hour, Chinedu Ohanachom added a second.

In their prior games, the Lafia club only managed one tie and six losses.

Nikyu told the club’s media, “God’s time is the best. It’s never been our intention to push the league to this point before we start seeing results.

“We’ve had a good reversal, and hopefully God has opened up new opportunities for us.

“This victory is a big confidence booster for us to push harder.”

Midweek, Bendel Insurance will be Nasarawa United’s opponent.
